Features

  • Microguard 475 is an antiseptic skin wash for pre-operative disinfection of hands for use by surgeons and operating theatre staff
  • Microguard 475 combines the effects of washing with the antibacterial properties of 0.75% povidone iodine
  • Microguard 475 possesses broad spectrum (gram positive, gram negative) bactericidal activity in accordance with EN 12054, with a reduction of greater than 5 log 10 (99.999%) against all four listed organisms i.e staphylococcus aureus 6538, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 15442, Escherichia coli NCTC10538, Enterococcus hirae ATCC 10541 at 3 minute and 5 minute contact time
  • Microguard 475 complies with EN 12791 for use as a surgical scrub and is registered with the TGA for use as an antiseptic surgical scrub solution

  • Microguard 475 contains moisturisers and emollients to enhance skin compatibility
  • Microguard 475 is highly economical delivering a controlled 1.7mL per application, with three pushes delivering 5mls
  • Hermetically sealed 1.2Lt pods of product are easily replaced and housed within the NextGen dispensers which are available with elbow or automatic touch free dispensing
  • Microguard 475 is also compatible with the full Ecolab suite of products

Directions

Please refer to the product label for instructions for use

Surgical hand wash

  • Apply 5 mL of Microguard 475 to pre-wetted hands and wash up to above elbow for 1 minute
  • Rinse 30 seconds with running tap water
  • Apply 5 mL of Microguard 475 and repeat above wash for 2 minutes, scrubbing hands, wrists and forearms to above the elbow
  • Rinse the hands up to the elbow for 30 seconds under running tap water
  • Keep forearms upright, dry the hands and arms with a sterile towel before donning sterile gloves
