Skinman 90 contains 90% w/w Ethanol in a water clear solution and is an antiseptic hand rub for surgical hand disinfection.
Skinman Soft Protect is a broad spectrum, fast acting alcohol surgical and hygienic hand rub for use in clinical settings by healthcare personnel.
Skinman Soft Protect contains 90% w/w Ethanol in a water clear solution with emollient and is an antiseptic hand rub specifically formulated for surgical hand disinfection. Its hypoallergenic formula is dye and colour free and does not contain chlorhexidine. The formulation is particularly suitable for individuals sensitised to chlorhexidine.
Skinman Soft Protect meets the Australian and European guidelines for use as both a pre-surgical hand rub and hygienic hand rub.
Skinman Soft Protect is an ARTG registered surgical and hygienic hand rub which conforms to EN 12791 and EN 1500.
Skinman Soft Protect alcohol-based surgical and hygienic hand rub has a unique, skin-friendly formulation which has been carefully developed with ingredients for excellent skin compatibility: vitamin E, nourishing glycerine and regenerative panthenol.
Skinman Soft Protect is proven to improve skin tolerability and acceptability over time, across a range of skin-friendly criteria, using an established WHO protocol*.
To support compliance a wide array of dispenser options and accessories are available along with signage and education material.
Current WHO and ACORN guidelines recommend the use of alcohol based formulations for pre-operative hand preparation given their superior antimicrobial efficacy.
Reduced application time – A 90 second rub with Skinman Soft Protect complies with the requirements of EN12791. In addition, no rinsing with water is required and no drying of hands is required as the alcohol air dries.
Improved skin compatibility – Alcohol preparations have clearly demonstrated superior skin compatibility whereas aqueous based (povidone-iodine & chlorhexidine) solutions are known to be associated with skin irritation.

Surgical Hand Disinfection

All skin surfaces including subungual areas are to be clean and dry prior to commencing surgical rub.
Surgical hand disinfection is achieved by rubbing undiluted product onto both hands as necessary to keep wet for 90 seconds.
At completion of rub allow hands to air dry thoroughly before donning sterile gloves.
